To study World History it is a good idea to know a little about Geography. In our opening discussion we talked about how human interaction in shaping the world we live in... and as we know, understanding the who, what and where is the key to cracking the questions of "Why?" and "So what?"
Baring this in mind, we are going to create a series of maps for one of our opening activities.
Each map will require a little more knowledge and experience than the one before it to make. So while they will little more difficult to create they will also teach us more.
After we finish making the maps we will discuss the impact of maps, knowledge of one’s surroundings and travel upon History.
For the first map you are drawing out a map of your “neighborhood”… include as much as you can of your surroundings – favorite places to eat, friends houses, etc. (You must have a total of 10 “features”)
Then we will go from there. The map worksheet is attached in the PDF below.
