The Industrial Revolution

Learning Objectives-

What Kansas wants you to know-

Benchmark 2, Indicator 4.  The student explores industrialization and its consequences in Britain.

What Fulbright wants you to know-

The Industrial Revolution provided humanity with many great things but also brought about some very terrible costs.  I want us to focus on two different consequences – poor living/working conditions and pollution

The First Activity

Once again we will be using a Ning site to help guide our exploration and discussion of the Industrial Revolution.  The address is http://industrialrevolution.ning.com/

The Second Activity

After finishing up on all of the discussion questions let Fulbright know so he can take a look at them and ask you any questions he may have.  After you are completely done you can move on to the second step.

There are two requirements for the “project” portion of assignment.

The first is really simple; just create a chart with the pro’s and con’s of the Industrial Revolution.  The list should have at least 6 items on each side.

The second part is very similar to the project we did for the Reformation… you are creating two bumper stickers.  These stickers should be similar to the Reformation in the fact that they need a slogan of some sort and maybe a picture if you want to.

I am not going to tell you exactly what the sticker should be focusing on, but examples would be – child labor, pollution, factories, etc.
